There is a lot of scope for cogeneration of power to utilize excess bagasse which is obtained from Sugar factories as byproduct. In initial stage, two power co-generation at Bazpur & Nadehi in District Udham Singh Nagar are proposed to generate 10MW & 6MW power each. After installation of these plants, about 16MW power would be evacuated to the state grid under an agreement with electricity board.
Besides above, all the six Sugar Mills are already generating power for their captive use
